I’m Gonna Be a Busy Lady

Yesterday, I started reading Ava’s Man by Rick Bragg.  I’ve wanted to read it ever since I read his book All Over But the Shoutin’ five years ago, and I am already in love with it.  If you’re interested in either of these – and I sincerely hope you are, because they’re wonderful – here they are on Amazon:

Oh, that’s not all!  Last week, Steam had its summer sale thingy, and Hubbles lost his freaking mind over it. So much so that, on top of what he bought for himself, he bought me a bunch of games, too. Looks like I’ll be a busy lady, reading this book and playing through all these gifts.

Hubbles wrote silly but cute messages for my email notifications from Steam, so I’m posting pictures of what he actually sent me.

The first Portal got to be too much for my brain. I hope that’s not the case with Portal 2.

Let me explain a little about this one.  My niece, Adia, passed away three years ago on her sixth birthday.  Her daddy and my stepdad always said she was a butterfly stuck in a cocoon.  So when she passed on, it was like she’d come out of that cocoon.  Butterflies are my family’s way of remembering Adia.  (Ha!  Like we could forget that little pistol.)

I loved Cthulhu Saves the World on Xbox 360 and I’m excited to play it again on PC. As for Breath of Death VII, all I can say is “SCORE!”

I think “Somebody to Love” by Queen should be the first song I play in Audiosurf.  Either that or “Headlong.”

Have you read these books or played any of these games?  What did you think about them?
